Entwined

This is a story about Cheetah & Luce, two persons who are different in every aspect but love. Do you want to read the story about Cheetah & Luce and marvel at that universe, where you're always in danger and possibly close to love. So close, that you can burn yourself. So close, that you become confused. So close, that you don't know what to choose?
If you want this and much more, do read this story, and do not hesitate to leave comments, be they deep criticism, hate comments or slightly more resigned comments. This world is full of wonders, and I am not one of them :p

Just an afterthough;
We follow Luce & Cheetah in the past and the present. As in, before they meet, and after they meet and the happenings after.

Another afterthought:
How do you like the cover?

Another afterthought:
How do you (not) like the ending?

I would really, really like a real review of this story and some constructive criticism.
Thank you.

The past

Pete sees the new chick at school. She has everything from tits to ass, but nothing tugs at him. She gives him a brilliant smile worth the magazines in the waiting rooms around the country. But he doesn't find her appealing. Her voice is soft, her cheeks just right, her eyes brilliant and emerald green, but his heart is not with him when he talks to her.

Her answers are too eager, her body too near. He is nauseated from the very first second he sees her. He makes his escape when the bell rolls through the school.

She follows him around. He knows she finds him attractive. He is handsome. He knows it. He is popular. He knows it. But all the boys in school are afraid of him. The girls find him appealing and frighteningly attractive. She wants him because of his looks and his status. And story. But he doesn't want her. So he humiliates her in front of the whole school. He doesn't regret it. He is sure that she has done the very same thing to another human being in another school. So he walks away with his mates, not even thinking about her.

He is not afraid of her. She doesn't go near anymore.

He can finally breath again.

He beats Leaf and Careener. Not that hard but hard enough.

They fool around again and they make fun of him for being witless and chick-less.

He doesn't care.

Until he sees her. The girl of his dreams.

He finds her when he's walking down a street full of people. How he came to turn his head in the right moment, he doesn't know. But he is glad he did. He follows her until she reaches a fountain and sits down. He walks around a little and then he walks down to her, making eye contact. Her eyes make his heart jump hard in his chest. He has fallen.

"Hey, baby."

Her eyes narrow and she looks daggers at him. He flinches but doesn't retreat.

"Don't call me baby, asshole."

He likes her.

She stands up and walks away without looking back at him.

He likes her even more.

His heart bursting he whistles to two of his companions and they follow her. In the afternoon they tell him her address and the school she goes to.

He skips school the next day. He places himself in front of her school, searching for her brilliant eyes, her sweet mouth. He can't stop thinking about her. Leaf and Careener are all over him.

"Finally findin' the chick of your dreams, eh?"

"A sharp wit, Cheetah. D'you think you can outrun her?"

"I've been livin' twenty years. Don't you think I can?"

"How old d'you think she is?"

"University plugs* are eighteen or more."                   *People

"Don't you call her plug, or it'll be the end of you."

They look at him in apprehension and send him faint smiles. He finally notices her in the mob of people.

The first few weeks he looks at her from a distance, noting her friends, her behaviour. He asks for permission to try some of the university classes, with the excuse of wanting to enroll.

He finds her in many classes, her hand always in the air, her conversations with her teachers sweet. He notices the sweetness in her. Her language outside when he found her was too different from her language here, with her friends and her teachers and comrades. She is not as outgoing and a little shy.

He likes her too much to even contain a single class without talking to her. But he resists the temptation. He doesn't want to frighten her. Or make her angry. But he has to take action. Two long months go by until he approaches her again. She is sitting in the library, her nose buried in a book, her hands scribbling notes in her notebook.

"Hey."

She looks up at him, startled. When she recognizes him, different emotions boil on her face. He can see fright. He can see faint anger.

"How did you find me?"

"I have my methods." He makes sure to talk in a civilised tongue. He doesn't know how to reach her heart. He wants to reach her heart. He is afraid of her reactions. He is afraid of being dumped by the girl he wants.

"I am calling the police."

He retreats and doesn't approach her again. He doesn't want her to hate him. The encounter dims all his hopes. He goes back to school, his heart broken.

"You'll find other chicks, mate."

"She ain't so beautiful, Cheetah. You can do better."

In the afternoon, his mind is wrapped around other problems. The Scorpions beats a few of his mates and expands their territory. Cheetah is set on taking it back. Territory is territory. But before he can plan anything, news reaches him.

"Cheetah! The Scorpions has taken a chick hostage in The Drainage."

Taking chicks hostages in broad daylight is insane. But doing it in The Drainage, nobody'll acknowledge any problem not in their own faces. Cheetah swears under his breath.

"Where she from?"

"Ain't nobody we know, mate. Only it looks like a rich one."

The Drainage is part of The Falcon's territory and lies under their protection.

"How d'you think we can approah 'em?"

They make a plan and move out to their group. They plant themselves around in The Drainage, knowing every nook and cranny. It's their only hope to release the hostage from The Scorpions' grip.

When Cheetah places himself in the window overlooking the scene, he finds out who the hostage is. It's the new chick at school. The one with the tits and the ass. And that brilliant magazine smile. Cheetah groons inwardly, but he can't stop rescuing her. He makes sure not to be the one doing it. They slowly descend upon The Scorpions. First beating the few guards surrounding the scene. Then closing in upon them. It's The Scorpions bad for doing it in the middle of everything.

Cheetah blames their ignorant knowledge of The Drainage. They hurriedly beat the tight-knit group in the middle, all the while  other Falcons snap the remaining Scorpions.

Leaf gets the honour of saving the new chick. She is delighted. Leaf is full of muscles. Cheetah hides in the background, glad of the distraction called Leaf.

The new chick follows Leaf around. Cheetah is sure that something is blooming inside Leaf. However, he can't be sure about the new chick. Her magazine smile is too wide for his liking.

A Falcon, who hasn't been fighting, runs toward their group. His eyes are panicked. His breath rasping. In between breaths, he talks. They all listen silently.

"The Scorpions... has taken ... more territory. We... took the bounce. Two .. Falcons are hurt."

No one listens for more. They all swear under their breaths. Leaf looks perplexed. He looks at the new chick, as if he can't see, how she could only be a distraction.
