1. Beginners Love

Even her dirt ridden, stiff nails quivered in the selfish wind

Her hope began to weaken her as her dimly lit eyes surrendered to tears

She found brightness in every shadow and love in every hate

And as her feeble legs continued to shake, she hopelessly fell.

 

The pain beat on her fragile heart like a worn drum

For it is a feeling that she cannot escape

Though foolishly she continued to run

If only a kind soul had opened the door that closed her in

She would have known that in a world so dark, love does exist.
