Reject it.

Reject love as it consumes you,

Haunts you,

Taunts you,

Builds you, like the layers of flesh on bones.

Soft, delicate, petals of a rose.

Brittle thorny stems, break before they mend,

Easily scarred, cancerous are men.

Reject it.

Reject love before it gets you,

Manipulates you,

Demoralises you in every sense of phrase,

Squeezes you, grips you, leaving marks to your core

Barely visible,

Barely legal,

Terminal.

Rose red wine, laced with poison, lap it up,

Smoke it,

Choke on it,

Reject it.
