Then.

The colour of passion Ran through our fabric. Our design:  flawless, Showing no tears.

Stitched and bound We would never leave each other’s side. I, the beast, She, the beauty.

Inseparable as we seemed A dream she had to pursue. Knowing she’d one day return to me, Wealthy and new.

Parading in locked arms, Down that long platform, She waved goodbye with glistening eyes, Mascara smudged and worn.

Now.

Draped in our colour She cavalcades in her fabric, My creations showcased Upon her sole.

Frayed and stained She ignores my existence. I, Gaston, She, the beauty.

Inseparable as we seemed A dream she pursued. She had returned, but not to me, Wealthy and new.

Accompanied by her shadow, Down that long platform, She turns independent, Leaving me torn.

Loved by all the world, From East to West, From ocean to Wood, From human, to me.
