Sylvia Plath

1. Sylvia Plath poem

‘ I am i am i am’
I say
in abundance of words.
I look in the mirror for a moment i’m her.
I wish i was either.

A patriarchal look to the mirror.
Look away.
Wave a corporation flag.
Sylvia Plath would turn in her grave,
to see how passive
i am to writing these days.

I am I am I am.
Her powdery violet tea dress,
Caught in a country breeze.
with cream colored buttons,
with folded back sleeves.

I am I am I am.
The sweltering delight
On Boston summer nights
of the ink flowing so fast

I could have drowned,
I could have drowned you.
