13. Captured again

I woke in my chambers, like the previous vampire attack. I was in agony, I turned my neck slowly. And saw Arthur, his hands over his face, he had recovered. “Guess who?” I joked, he took his hands away from his face, and looked at me. He had been crying, he put his hand on my cheek, and kissed me. Breathing deeply with relief, “I'm sorry Erica. I wish I could make it up to you,” I smiled. “You already have, just being with me.” He smiled, and he kissed me again, the door opened. “Hello people,” I looked to see a familiar face. “Merlin,” his white beard had grown since last time. All he had was his wand, “So. Some broken bones, cuts all over your body. I can fix you in a flash,” he waved his wand. And a cauldron floated I the air, he mumbled to himself as other objects appeared in front of him. They all went into the cauldron, Arthur had left to tell the others I was awake. Merlin took a wooden bowl and scooped in some of the potion in there, he passed it to me. And I drunk in a second, and he continued until there wasn't any left. “Feel better?” I nodded, “Completely. Thanks,” he nodded and left the room. Farron walked in, followed by Arthur and Adonis. “Where's Merlin?” Arthur asked, I turned to sit with my feet on the floor. “He's already given me the potion,” Adonis pulled me to my feet. “Thanks, where are the others?” Adonis looked at Farron and Arthur, then looked back to me. “There's a war now, between the Dark Ones and the Dragonlords.” I couldn't believe this, “What!.” I started to walk out of the room, “We must help them.” Farron jumped in front of me, “Told you she would react like this.” Arthur said to Adonis they both laughed. “Erica, there isn't a battle now,” Farron said. I then realized I was wearing the dress from the attack, still dirty. Adonis and Farron left, Arthur went the other way, I followed him. “Erica, meet me at the stables, I'll be there in a minute.” I went to the stables, the horses were in there, a dapple grey stuck her head out to say hello. I stroked her face, and her mane. And then something else nudged me, I turned to see Kamalia and Calenta. “Hey guys, thanks for saving me and Arthur.” They both hugged me with their necks, I suddenly heard a bird call, like no other. Fire spread across the sky very briefly, and burst of fire landed in the forest. Both the Dragons looked curiously, I passed the gate, and travelled across the spring grass that covered the field. The melted snow still lingered in the grass, either as a liquid or a sludge. You wouldn't think I would be able to walk, or even talk. Considering how many times I’ve been injured by that vampire, and the amount of times he's sucked my blood. As I moved into the forest, a mysterious orange glow became stronger. “Erica,” Arthur called out, I turned to see him running up to me. “Where are you going?” as he came to my side. “There was this fire, it spread across the sky, and it landed in the forest. Come on!” I grabbed his hand and ran into the forest. There was fire, centered in the middle of the clearing. I walked towards it, Arthur was more hesitant. “You always follow the light,” and we both turned to see the vampire once again. Arthur rushed to my side, the vampire walked towards us. We ran towards the forest, the vampire threw Arthur to the other side of the forest. And held my throat in his hand, “Why do you resist me?” As he trailed his finger tip around my face, “Don't you want to be the winning team?” I escaped his grip. “I would rather die than join any 'team' with you,” I severely spoke. He pinned me to the floor, “Suit yourself.” And he took a bite out of my neck, I screamed. Arthur came back through the forest, and pulled the vampire away from me. I lay there, becoming weaker and weaker, “Arthur. Don't you wish the truth of your parents.” Arthur glared at him in disbelief, “You see Arthur. Your mother did die of childbirth, and she is long gone. But your father still walks on the Earth,” he took in a breath of air. Even though he didn't need to, “In fact. He is standing in front of you,” when he said those final words, Arthur collapsed. “So, would you rather join your father, or this.” And he pointed to me, struggling to breathe. I couldn't see anything, “Arthur. Your mother was a normal human, but your father is a vampire. So you're a half blood,” I opened my eyes weakly. “So join me, and we can overpower the Dragonlords.” He looked at his 'father,' “I wouldn't join you. If it involves harming Erica,” he spoke strongly. The vampire laughed, “This?, she is weak. At the moment, she couldn't kill a pixie,” Arthur stared at him. “That's just what you've made her,” and with those words he spoke. The vampire became enraged, then everything became dark. When I woke, I was once again in the dungeon, but Arthur wasn't there. Then I heard someone coming, it was the vampire, he opened the door with a iron key. And grabbed me like I was a piece of meat. He led me to a throne room, like at the temple. But this one was black, and Gothic. Gargoyles lined the side of the room, and candles dimly lit the room. He threw me to the floor, I lay there, barely alive. Then I saw Farron, Adonis, Ambrosine, Pyralis and Livano, when they saw me. I could see in their eyes that they were disgusted that the fact the vampire would treat me like this. “You're negotiations,” the vampire demanded. Livano stepped forward, “We aren't going to give you our home-” “Then you have wasted your time coming,” the vampire interrupted. “But we are willing to fight for her,” the vampire considered this. Mulling this over in his mind, he paced back and forth of me, as he came closer. I took my advantage, and kicked him in the shin. He hopped briefly, “You bitch,” and he kicked me in the back. I cried out in pain, I could see Adonis was the most disturbed. Farron covered his eyes using his wing. The pain was more unbearable, not knowing where Arthur was. “Alright, you can have Erica now, if the battlefield is our home ground.” Livano nodded, and the vampire flicked his hand at a different ogre. And he picked me up, and threw me towards the others. “Oh, and Erica,” the vampire said. I didn't even want to look at him, but I did anyway. Still lying on the floor, in pain. “If you want to see my son again, the only way time you will. Is on the battlefield,” and we left the throne room. As we left the castle, the others mounted their Dragons while I trailed behind. Then Kamalia appeared in front of me, pain in her eyes. I mounted her, and I whispered in her ear. “He's gone, and so has Calenta,” and with that information. She lifted her head, and roared as loud as she could. The others looked at her, confused. Kamalia took me back to the black castle, and she flew away. As she did, the others landed. Farron came to my side, but I didn't want to see anyone, I walked into the forest. He watched me walk away, Adonis followed me. I came to the tree were Arthur was pushed against when the vampire attacked us for the first time. There was blood there, sat against the tree, but a non-blood covered part. Tears came to my eyes, Adonis sat next to me. He put his arm around me, I leant against him. He put his head against mine, at least I had Adonis to comfort me.
