I am the new UK editor for Movellas. Having been working in publishing and creative writing for the past few years, I am really looking forward to reading all your exciting Movellas (and hopefully offering some helpful feedback).   • Notifications!

    Jordan PhilipsYou might have noticed a little change to movellas this morning... in the form of a little number appearing at the top of your screen! No longer will you receive hundreds of emails from Movellas... no longer will you lose track of who is replying to your comments or what stories have been updated... we have built notifications into Movellas!

    It might still need a few tweaks and improvements here and there, so please let me know if you have any feedback on how it works or looks. Thank you.

    Uncle Mitchy KayIt used to be a lot easier but since movellas updated their site... go to 'Me' on the bright green bar (at the top of the page) and a slide should pop down with a list of options. Choose- "New Movella" and then you'll be taken to your new Movella's editing screen. Which if you need help with that too, just ask me.

  • Update!

    It has been a while since I mumbled an update from Movellas HQ. So much exciting stuff going on here... not only has the reaction to the historical fiction and afterlife contest been great, there are three more contests for the next month that I'm really looking forward to sharing with you!

    As well as this, we have a great intern helping us at the moment. She is particularly good at offering good constructive criticism and is keen reader and editor. Say hi to her, her movellas name is purpletwaddle

    Lastly, we are working to make massive improvements to the notification system on Movellas... we know lots of you are fed up of all the emails Movellas sends you. Hopefully this won't be too far away!

    Ariadne WightHey, I just wanted to ask, is there ever going to be a contest without a word limit? I mean, all of the interesting prompts have limits, and only the borring ones are open. Personally, I write really, really long stories (Like, 30,000 words long), and I'm sick of trying to cut them down to size for contests. I cannot possibly hope to write a story complex and in-depth enough to win a contest (let alone captivate an audience) in only 4,000 words. So please, please, please make an open contest with an interesting prompt (not historical fiction or realism, preferrably), and NO WORD LIMIT!

    As always, I need your help. I'm looking for a crack team of writers who are up for being involved in a super secret writing experiment over the next couple of weeks. It would help if you had a TINY bit of computer programming knowledge or were not afraid of HTML. Even more than that, it would be great if you liked gaming, role play or Choose Your Own Adventure books.

  • Safety

    Jordan PhilipsHi. You might have all noticed that there are some new safety and age based features on Movellas as of the weekend. If you are over 16, you might not have noticed anything. I just wanted to take a moment to update you on them:

    1) You now have to declare your age on signing up to Movellas and you be over 13 to enter your birthdate - this is in line with our terms and conditions.
    2) Red stories have always been 16+, but now the age on your profile has to be 16+ for you to access or write a red story.
    3) You also have to be logged in to read a red story. Again, this is in line with our terms and ratings.
    4) If you are 16, you might have been experiencing some difficulties accessing red stories - this is not correct and we are looking to fix it ASAP.

    Fantasy DreamYou're that guy that says I start fights! IT IS OVER. Just 1 person isn't going away. Soooo annoying :/ ! Everything is fine and I DO know the safety rules. I didn't come on to here to fight. Why would I fight on here when there's the real world to fight with you. Not that I enjoy fighting. It is just pointless. I get that you're concerned but aren't you meant to just be the editor of movellas? Cuz you keep on telling me that I need to stop fighting. I HAVE! PLEASE let me handle this myself because I am not a kid or teen and I know what I am doing. Thanks... :/
