A Never-ending Love
I finally found my love
When the sun was at its height,
She was an angel fallen from heaven
Love at first sight.
I met her as the clock struck twelve
And the stars glimmered as they shone,
We were alone together
All other life had gone.
She had eyes of deep pure sapphire
And hair as black as night,
She was a gift from above
Love at first sight.
I now believe in love
It’s an unbreakable link,
Only death can break it
And more love as well I think.
I must have had a lot of love
As my heart now has its master,
Because every time I saw her
It beat a little faster.
Although our parents disagreed
We married and we kissed,
We were inseparable
Not a second together was missed.
But one tragic day
A curse from above,
I gazed at my darling
And had to much love.
They took me to the hospital
To try and fix the curse,
But I dearly missed my sweetheart
That just made it worse.
I missed her eyes of sapphire
Her hair as black as night,
The feel of her lips
Our love at first sight.
Another whole day past
Spent in agony,
Then a doctor came to tell me
I had a heart disease.
I was to leave on a plane
To a place far away,
Where one donated heart
Would make this go away.
But before I was to leave
I begged to say goodbye,
I told my love it would be okay
But that might have been a lie.
She was silent at the airport
And she didn’t even wave,
Our love would never be the same
As in the memories we saved.
They took me to a ward
Or it may have been a cell,
I would not have noticed
I was in to much pain to tell.
I then had an operation
Which drained some love away,
They gave me a new heart
And then let me go the next day.
When I returned to our flat
My love was not there,
I searched in every place we used to go
But she was not anywhere.
I went to see her mother
As I thought that would be smart,
I asked her where my love was
She said: “Don’t you know who donated that heart?”
How I’ll miss my love
And her sapphire eyes,
The feel of her lips
I really did tell a lie.
So take my advice
Don’t take too much love,
It really is a drug
A curse from high above.
