Opposites attract

1. The meet

I picked up Jim's truck and played a game with him.

'Haha!' He giggled excitedly.

It was the only toy he had so he had to make the most of it. The only toy I had was a big roll of wool. I used it to cut and stick little models together. My mum said I was talented at art but I knew otherwise.

'Mum. Shall I go round to the chippy?' I asked my mum.

'Please do! I'm starving. Here you are.' Mum handed me over some spare change and I charged out of the door (only because I was starving).

I raced through the street until I saw it right at the end of the road.

'Oh yum.' I mumbled to myself.

I walked up to Derek who smiled at me.

'Hello Lara. The usual?' He asked.

'Yes please.' I smiled at him and my stomach rumbled.

'Haha! I better be quick.' He laughed.

I heard a loud yelling from behind me.

'It's a disgrace! Take away's here! I mean come on! Where are the restaurants?!' a posh looking lady shouted on her phone.

'Mother, please calm down. You're causing a bit of a scene.' The boy next to her told her.

'Fuck you!' She swore at the person down the phone and threw it down at the ground in a temper.

The boy smiled at me, looking slightly embarrassed.

'Are you ok miss?' I asked the lady.

'And now we have tramps talking to us! Eurgh! Go away!' Her temper made my lips wobble nervously and then a tear slid down my cheek. I couldn't help it. It just came.

'You have such a cold heart, mother.' The boy told her.

'Then you do to.' His mother looked down at him like he was a disgrace to the family.

'Don't look at your son like that.' I told the woman.

'Just shut up, you tramp!' I quickly grabbed my fish and chips and ran home, tears filling my eyes.
