Blurb They say; a word is just a word, but I think writers know better. To a writer letters and words are a gift given to us, so that we can make sense of the senseless. With them we are able to create great stories; stories of love, hate, desire, fear, life and of so much more. If a word is just a word, how come they are so important to us? How come they do hurt us? How come they do sooth us? How come they do make somewhat of a difference? With the following collection of poems I hope that you too, dear reader will question the saying; a word is just a word, for it is not just a word is it?

I look at you,

But my glance has no meaning,

For all I have is words.

 

I smile at you,

But my grin speaks no truth,

For all I have is words.

 

I reach for you,

But my touch has no relief,

For all I have is words.

 

I love you,

But my affection shows no passion,

For all I have is words.

 

I don’t know how to see you.

I don’t know how to please you.

I don’t know how to touch you.

I don’t know how to love you.

Forgive me for all I have is words.

  • A.E.J.Oh gosh I love your latest poem! And how wonderful to have you back! Your rhyming is as amazing as I remember - you're damn talented! The last line in the poem made me curious though. I'm not sure I understand... I read it like it means, that this whole lady doesn't even exist, 'cause a woman can't live that sort of life without being sad sometimes. But I got this feeling I'm misinterpreting it... Can you give me a clue?

    Well, you are definitely not wrong. The poem is about this woman who is everything that most men desire(beautiful, confident, uncomplicated etc.) and all the other women put her down and call her names because they envy her ability to get exactly what she wants without looking back, without a care in the world, without a conscious . What nobody realizes is the fact that as you said, this kind of woman does not exist, because we all have our ups and downs - The Late-night Lady is a charade, a facade that a scared and insecure girl puts up to seem strong and on top off the world - who she seems to be, is nothing like who she really is underneath the make-up, the cocktails, the fancy dresses and all the so-called romance :)
    I hope that I won't keep you waiting for too long :)
    A.E.J.Aww, that is the best name anyone have ever given me! :D Omg, that is something like what I thought, and it's so deep and strong and amazing and all this. Therefore I'll call you my #1 poet! When you get older and get all of your amazig work published I'll just sit here like: "I told ya!". And later I'll tell my children proudly, that I know that woman on TV discussing her genious work! :O

    Tess Towler #stopmobningAnd this is exactly why I love writing, why I love publishing my stuff - you know that moment when someone gets it and feels it the way I felt it when I wrote it, when that light goes on I feel like maybe I do make somewhat of a difference, maybe my words aren't just words :)
    You are so sweet and great, do you know that? Well, now you do ;) And when I get published and booked for Tv-shows I'll remember to mention A.E.J. the movellist who had faith in me from the very beginning, even when I didn't :D
