Dizzy, slowly vision coming back, pain in the back of my head, what the hell happened? A dark room, two rectangles of light slowly coming into focus. This room it was dark, the windows were set high in the wall, and two ropes hang from the floor. Dark shape slowly becoming clearer and clearer, I wasn’t alone. This shape they were bodies some lying face down on the cold, wooden, grey floor. Hands out reaching, dragging, but… but they weren’t moving, there was long drag stains of blood all over the floor. Metal chains attached to my ankles, the smell of moss and rotting wood fills the room.
By now my vision has recovered fully and I can see clearly, there were 5 other people like me chained to the wall via different parts of the body, wrists, chest, neck, ankles etc. I counted three bodies lying in the centre of the room, blood soaked into the wooden floor boards.
“Wh……….where?” a female voice mumbled
“I have no idea” I mumbled
A speaker somewhere set high up in the room came into life.
“NO NAMES!” A metallic voice “Each of you have a number on your left wrist, you shall refer to each other as that”
“HEY! What fuck are we doing here?” I shouted into the emptiness towards the canopy of the roof.
“You are the lucky few to try out my new game. I like to call it hangman. You will receive instructions on how to escape this room shortly, but firstly you lot should get better aquatinted with each other; there are only four of you in this room. The other bodies as you can guess are dead.” The voice cuts out and was no more.
“what…. What number are you?” I asked
“errrmmmmm… 4, what about you?”
“I got 8” I replied. “is there anyone awake yet?”
“no, just us two at the moment.” She replied
Just as number 4 finished 4 small TV screens started to lower itself down from the ceiling. Once it was about 5 metres above the floor, they flicked on. There in the middle of the screen was this room, but it was from one of the walls. It must have been built into the wall. There were four people in the centre of the room, one was holding the two ropes, and the others huddled around him. As the TV carried on playing this clip, me and 8 realized that it was the last people to play this “game”. Me and 4 got the general idea of the “game” before we even got the instructions, all that the TVs were now showing was a man holding the two ropes, one in each hand.
