Blurb It's summer time for Alexis! Ever since she joined GATE, she's been going to camp every summer. The camp puts her talents up to test in a team competition along with her friends. Will they make their way to the top? Or will they aimlessly hit rock bottom? What happens when "he" returns?? Will everything change? Please fan "I'm a nerd not a geek", she's actually the original author. Some of the things in this story is untrue when it comes to certain people and things so don't assume everything is true, have any questions and we promise to answer them :)

Gifted With Problems

1. Met me in the library

"Hey Alexis, watcha doing this summer?" questioned Oliver as he and I were working on our group project along with our mates Kate, Rose, Skylar, Joanne, and Cody.
"Obviously hanging out with you and the rest of the guys!" I squeal in excitement.
"Don't forget about summer camp again this year!" He mentions.
"Yup, This year we are taking down the Nicholas Team." I declare. GATE was a program at school, it stands for Gifted And Talented Enrichment. Every child in the program were special, as in gifted with an outstanding ability. Every participant of GATE would battle each other out at a summer camp they provide us, you go every single year, depending on when you joined is when you start. Then there were some people who quit GATE because it was too difficult for them. I notice that again I'm rubbing the gems of my camp bracelet between my fingers, its an odd habit yet soothing. I suppose I am special cause the beads my previous counselors were one of a kind, I could never find anyone with at least a look alike of mine. It makes me feel a bit weird like they've also gave me this special puzzle looking box and a beautiful, leather stitched journal. I don't know why but the box will never open to others nor will the journal reveal itself. The book was beautiful to me because it was filled with this elaborate story of this war between the magic world and society. I'm a nerdo yes but its just fascinating to me. I never questioned why they ever gave me them because I thought things were better unknown. But then again a common characteristic shared by all GATE students, we're too curious. This year there are 6 teams, it is the Klozik, Kumzi, Merino, Capadonna, Nichols, and Purk. The camp took place in over a 6 week period for the training, then the competitions, the award ceremony, and then we had a week and half to do what we wish to do. There was 5 portions of the competition which was Athletics, Art, Music, Knowledge, and finally Random! Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses within each section but for me my strength was Music. No one could expect what happens in the random competition because its unpredictable on what we have to do. We were creating a business for economics class where we would act as though we were contestants on the show "Shark Tank." We all have this ADHD sort of personality so none of was really able to sit still and type things on the computer nor stay on topic of the project. We wandered for a bit and found some brail Harry potter books which were enormous!! They were contained in like 3 inch. binders and the binders themselves won't even hold all the pages in. I could hear this strange gurgling noise behind me, I turn around to see Kate.
"When are you never hungry?" I question her.
"When I'm sleeping" she answers back.
"Than doesn't count" her cousin, Skylar, corrects her, "You're sleeping, you can't eat when you're sleeping?!?"
"Okay okay, can we go eat though?" Kate asks.
"Fine" Skylar huffs. Our library had its own little restaurant like panera so we order some food there. When our buzzer flashes with red bold lights and vibrates, we hurriedly grab our food. I simply listen to their conversation on this comedian, which I for one don't know who he is. It wasnt until 1 we began working again but that didn't quite happen. By the time the library was closing, we had gotten only half of our project done. Oh well, we still have the rest of the week at school. Oliver and Kate had to go home together since they were twins but Skylar had to stay over with them. Rose as well went with them since she was there next door neighbor. Cody and Joanne just walked to their own houses cause they live near the library. As for I, alone, get into my green buggie cause I live about 10 minutes away. As the garage door opens, I see there is no other car there, just like the usual. When I walk into the living room its empty again like usual, no one was ever really home since my dad works until midnight and my little sister is at her friends house always 24/7. My mum on the other hand, is no longer with us anymore. That night was a big blur but I only recall her saying "Goodbye Alexis, take care of your sister. I promise to see you again soon, I love you" The part of seeing us again never happen. I could feel my heart sink as I think about it more and more. I decide to go through the journal one more time today, just to take my mind off of things. I flip through the beginning pages,
"You know who else would've like this book" I thought to myself,
"Nathan, I sure miss him as well......"
