Trust, Hope, and Lust.

1. The Trip

It was a steamy Saturday morning in the Davon household- Hannah downstairs singing along to a One Direction song, Dad making breakfast in our new kitchen, and Mom still knitting a blanket for my baby cousin. "Good morning!" I announced walking into the energetic scene. I sat on a chair against our island where dad was cooking. He smiled brightly and kissed the top of my head. "Morning, pumpkin," he said still frying the bacon. "Jaci please don't bother your father while he's cooking. It's rather annoying, and it ruins our breakfast." I laughed at my mother. So worrisome, but yet, so carefree. Hannah sang the last note of "It's Gotta Be You" and plopped in the seat next to me. "Being in love with 1D is hard work," she said panting. "Is it?" I asked sarcastically. My dad snickered and Hannah rolled her bright blue eyes. "Yes, it is," she said. "Daddy, tell Jaci about the trip!" My dad laughed once more and looked up from his finished food. "We're going to England for a while," he announced. Hannah squealed. "Just to London for a bit. For your mother's painting and my cooking career. It'll be fun, I promise." I wasn't worried about it not being fun. I was worried about the weather, my clothes, my friends here in Florida. I promised my friend Alia a trip to the boardwalk tomorrow. I hoped we weren't leaving then. "When are we leaving?" I asked over Hannah's squeals. "Friday," he said in his slight British accent. My parents originated from England, but moved here. Hannah and I never had accents, but I don't think anyone could tell. "I can't wait. Jaci can you? It'll be loads of fun! We might even meet Harry Styles!" She bounced out of her chair and upstairs. "I'm happy, Dad, I really am. But how long are we staying?" He smiled. "Just a few months. I just told Hannah too. There's a nice hotel we rented and we already paid in full so we have to go. Don't be such a worrywart, Jaci." He kissed my forehead again and slipped me a plate of food. "Eat up, Mrs.Bones," he laughed. I smiled and ate my bacon and eggs happily. Maybe this trip would be good news. I couldn't wait until Friday.
