Calling

1. Calling

Storm clouds gather o’erhead

and rain falls like the tears of my heart.

My thoughts are a whirlwind in my mind,

I am cold and empty inside.

I raise my head

to a misty window at midnight.

Hear my voice in the rain,

I’m calling for you.

Chase away the cold

and fill the emptiness within me.

Melt my frozen heart

and breathe me to life.

Can you hear me calling?

I listen for an answer

but there is only silence.

Darkness fades to dawn

but the loneliness and despair remain.

Emerald forest’s secrets,

Church bell rings a thousand sorrows

I wait for you to open your eyes and see me.

I am here.
