CHAPTER 1: Always There

Nicole’s POV:

“Leave me alone!” I sobbed into my pillow. I had just caught my boyfriend cheating on me. “Nikki; come on. You have to eat something.” Said my older sister, Leila, as she pushed my curly blonde hair out of my face. “NO.” I groaned. “He doesn’t deserve you, Nikki. He isn’t worth your tears. No matter how much you think he is; he’s not at all.” I sat up; rubbing my puffy, red eyes. “What can I have Rosalie go get you from the market?” Leila asked me, rubbing my back. “Cookies, milk, popcorn, ice cream, chocolate donuts, and anything sweet that I can stuff my face with.” Just then, my door slowly creaked open. It was my best friend, Niall. “Niall…” I whispered; feeling his strong arms rap around me as I sobbed into his chest. I loved having my best friend here to comfort me when I had a broken heart.

Niall’s POV

“Shh… It’s okay Nikki. Everything will turn out alright…” I cooed as I held her close to me. I had always had feelings for Nikki. She never knew about them though. At our 7th grade field trip, I was going to tell her how I felt. But her ex-boyfriend stole my chance. They had been off and on since then. But today she found out that he had been cheating on her. I hated to see her hurt; she was like the sister that I never had. But I had always wished that we could be more. We had known each other since first grade and I had been by her side ever since. I was there to help her through ending friendships, fights, boyfriends, break ups, and her parents’ divorce that happened a few years ago. I had always wanted to show Nikki how I felt. I just don’t know if she’ll feel the same way. I don’t want to ruin our brother/sister like friendship.
