Salvation

My salvation and testimony

When I was eight my parents got divorced. It tore my family in half. It wasn't torn straight down the middle, it was a tear with jagged edges and a sharp pain. In November of 2013 I stated to everyone that I accepted Jesus Christ as my lord and savior. It was just a subconcious decision to try to get my family together for one important thing in my life. In December of 2013 the baptismal heater caught on fire and left the water freezing cold. It was Jesus trying to tell me this wasn't right.

In October of 2016, I moved in with my father and got everyone to pray for others because my prayers weren't being answered. The only prayer Jesus hears from a sinner is the prayer to recieve salvation. In January 2017, on the 18th, the last day of a three day revival, it was Wednesday after service when I turned to my grandmother with tears streaming down my face and whispered.

"I'm not saved."

She took a hold of my hand and together we walked up to the altar during invitation. My pastor, Brother Sculley prayed over me and Mrs. Sarah took me into the little prayer room behind the piano. We walked in, I sat down and Mrs. Sarah talked to me for a few moments. I didn't even bow my head and pray, I was crying hysterically and so I shouted out for Jesus to save me. I needed him so much and I needed his saving grace. I was hunched over and I felt the weight of the world lift off my shoulders. My tears stopped on my cheeks and dried up. When I walked outside after my salvation everything was the same but it looked so different. I see the world in a whole new way. I worry about people who aren't saved, I pray about people who aren't saved and I wish that the ones I love and the people who aren't saved get saved.

Salvation is an amazing gift and everyday I grow closer to God. From time to time the Devil makes me feel embarrassed about my salvation but Satan is just mad because I'm not his little girl no more. I am a daughter of the king, a princess of God and the kingdom of Heaven is mine to share with my brothers and sisters.

SALVATION

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”  (Romans 5:8)

The Philippian jailer asked Paul, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” (Acts16 :30-31)  Paul replied, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.…”

So, what must you do to receive Christ as your Saviour?

First, you must admit that you are a sinner and need to be saved.
Second, you must repent and be willing to turn from your sin.
Third, you must believe that Jesus Christ died for you on the cross.
Fourth, you must receive through prayer, Jesus Christ into your heart and life.

“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”  (Revelation 3:20)

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” (Romans 10:9)

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”  (Romans 10:13)

If God is knocking on the door of your heart, then answer the door and let Him come in.  You can receive Christ through prayer.  Here is a simple prayer of salvation.

“Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner.  I know that I need you.  I believe that you died on the cross for me. Forgive me of my sins. Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and life to you.  I receive you as my Saviour, come into my life and save me.  Thank you for what you did for me.  Amen.”

It is not just reciting a prayer that saves a person, but believing in one’s heart on the Lord Jesus Christ and confessing with one’s mouth.  For by faith (trusting) in Jesus for one’s salvation is essential.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)

Now, you need to trust His Word when Jesus said, “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.” (John 10:9)

I pray that you do accept Jesus Christ as your lord and savior and you do continue to spread the gospel
