 Who I am

Who I am, what I love, and how I view the world

Who am I?

I am someone who lives for art, politics, Intellectual challenges, music, and so much more.  I would also like to share with you some of the challenges I face.

I struggle w/ a substantial amount of depression and anxiety, which has played a prominent role in who I am today, in both good and bad ways. The bad I refuse to dwell on, but the good I will talk about. One positive effect my mental health has had on me is the creativity that It has sparked; I have always felt the most powerful things I have created have come from very dark places. The second thing I'm thankful for is the perspective my mental health has given me. I've been able to meet people whom I otherwise wouldn't have met and who have proven that you can beat stereotypes and adversity, that you can beat abuse and come out stronger.  And Finally, It has given me a community, a community In which will accept you, regardless of who you are or whether they necessarily see eye to eye with you, and that Is timeless.

I have always been one for the Arts; whether it be the literary, musical, or the visual arts. Although I am not talented in all areas of Art, I appreciate them immensely, because I feel art expresses what one is too afraid to say out loud. I also feel great admiration for the arts because they immerse me in memories and emotions. They make me love one minute and hate the next... they make me laugh and cry... but most of all the arts provide hope and sincerity, and that is why I love the arts.

Finally, I would like to tell you a bit about how I view the world, what I believe I in, how I stand on political issues. I personally am a big advocate for gender equality, LGBTQ, youth rights, immigration rights, and racial equality. However, unlike most liberals, I don't judge or try to change those who's Ideas differ from mine, and all I ask is that all you return the favor.

Thanks to all who took the time to read my introduction,

     Carmen heartheart
