The Words of a Lost Girl

Alone

Being alone isn't a choice. Most people would tell you to make friends or to go out and meet new people, but it's never that easy.

Being alone isn't a choice. Most people would tell you to make friends or to go out and meet new people, but it's never that easy.

Being alone isn't a choice because sometimes you just feel as if there is no one in the world who will ever understand you, accept you and love you for who you are and will become. Unfortunatly, not many people can make us feel as if we are people who are worth getting to know, people who are precious to them. Many of us don't even realise that every time we are ignored by someone we considered a close friend, a little bit of us dies. The tiny part of our soul that we gave to them when we decided; 'I like you and I will be there for you'.

Being alone isn't a choice, it's the thought that crosses your mind when one too many people have forgotten about you. At least, that's what it feels like. When your parents mistake you for a sibling, when a friend forgets you birthday, when someone ditches you to go out with another. You start to question whether they were ever there for you at all.

So no, being alone isn't a choice. You can't just go out and find friends who will fill the gaping hole in your chest. You cna't simply find someone who truly understands you so easily. Friends can be met a dime a dozen and they can act as a temporary solution so that the loneliness isn't as bad, but you will never truly stop being alone until someone finds you.

The real you everyone hides the moment they're hurt or humiliated because of their true self. Until someone finds the soul a person keeps hidden in the very centre of their being, they will only be a friend.

When someone finds you then they will be someone important, someone worth something.

Then and only then will you stop being alone.
