October Round Up

Looking back at all of the things which happened during October. #MovellasBlogs

Ever since Movellas introduced this blogging feature, I've been deciding what I wanted to use it for, whether I chose to use it for tags, reviews, or a variety of other things. I've now decided that my blogs will take a more personal approach, recording things that happen in both my online and real lives.

For my first blog, I'm going to focus on the things that have happened this month, starting from the start.

Marianas Trench Concert

I didn't post about it at the time but, on October 4, I finally got to see my favourite band perform live after a few years of waiting. They're a Canadian band and this was their first tour in the UK so the venues were small, making the shows quite intimate. Our venue in Cardiff (a few hours away) only held 300 people, so even though we were right at the back, we were still only a few rows away from the stage. Here's a picture of me looking the happiest I've ever been in my life:

After the show (which was incredible, by the way), we hung around by the tour bus since the band always come out to meet waiting fans after every show to sign things and take pictures. Two members of the band were sick (the singer eventually got laryngitis and they had to cancel the rest of the tour) and another kept disappearing as soon as you spotted him but my friends and I had the delight of meeting Mike Ayley, the bass player of the band. He is honestly one of the kindest and most welcoming people that I've ever met. He was happy to sign all of our tickets, take a few photos, and talk for a couple minutes. Here's a photo of me looking slightly nervous and on the verge of crying from happiness:

This photo is the lockscreen and wallpaper on all of my devices. It's been a few weeks since the show and I can't wait for them to announce dates for their next European tour.

Radio 1 Teen Awards

On October 23, my friends and I headed up to London to watch the Radio 1 Teen Awards. I was lucky enough to go last year - you may have seen me post about it - especially since we barley managed to get tickets and our seats were right at the back of the arena. This year, we upgraded to the ninth row and I'm watching recoridngs of the show back to see if I can find myself in the crowd. Shawn Mendes and Little Mix were both phenomenal live. The Vamps and Jess Glynne put on a great show. DNCE... Well, all I remember is that their bass player is slightly terrifying.

There's Shawn Mendes, lighting up the arena like that Coldplay song.

The Teen Awards is a great oppurtunity to witness live music, amazing celebrities, and honour teenagers who you can happily describe as 'heroes'. It's inspiring to watch the stories of these young people who are making an incredible difference to the lives of others.

Holland

On October 24, I went to Holland for five days to visit Amsterdam and some of the other towns near to where I was staying.

Amsterdam is one of the prettiest places that I've ever been. I won't say any more about it because I think I'll write a seperate blog for it in detail since it was incredible. That's all.

Heartbreak Writing Competition

At some point during this month, I posted an entry for the 'Heartbreak Writing Competition' which was titled 'Smoke and Diamonds'. It's an idea that I've been posting differen versions of for a while, trying to find the perfect way to write down the story that is being told in my head. I've finally managed to create a new and improved version that I'm proud of, one that is different to any that you may have read before.

Assorted Thoughts

  • October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It included days dedicated to non-violence, bullying prevention, coming out, and even the Mad Hatter.
  • I hope I can get this blog up in time to enter it in the Blogging Competition.
  • Troye Sivan released the official audio to Heaven and I may have listened to it when the album first came out but I've fallen in love all over again.
  • The other day, I brought nine Percy Jackson/Heroes of Olympus books which were worth £73 for only £25. This is the kind of thing that excites me.
  • I took the photo that I used in the banner and I'm so proud of myself because of it.

That's all I have to say for this month. From what I know already, November won't be quite as exciting, but I'll keep you updated.

Goodbye for now,

-Teganxo
