David Almond Joins Project Remix

Amazing news!

David Almondthe author of 'Skellig' and other critically aclaimed childrens and YA novels, has joined the brilliant list of Project Remix Extracts. His story The Fusilier is part of his semi-autobiographical short story collection Counting Stars (2013).

Project Remix is a creative competition with a new style. Children's Laureate, Malorie Blackman is asking for creative teenagers aged 13-19 to get inspired by really great authors. Not just by writing, but by using other creative skills like movie making, musical ability, artistic skills or design.  By entering the Project Remix competition you could win the Project Remix prize, which will be awarded at an award ceremony in London with Malorie Blackman and will include professional one on one feedback from a professional in your chosen catagory.

The Fusilier could be 'remixed' into one of your chosen catergories for Project Remix. Read the extract here and ...

Write a story about a runaway. Draw a comic strip of The Fusilier's performing at a street market scene. Design an alternate cover for the story. For all you movie makers: film a trailer for the story. Or write a musical number, what would the music of The Felling Fusiliers sound like? Just use your imagination!
