Lady Sansa Stark's obsession with lemon cakes is a recurring theme in the 'Game of Thrones' series. Growing up in the North, citrus fruit would have to be imported from the South, thus making the cakes a very exotic and extravagant treat. In this sense, they represent the kind of life that Sansa aspires to -glamourous, refined, luxuriant. We especially love the pretty lemon slices on the recipe above.

This gloriously decadent dessert certainly wouldn't look out of place at the Capitol!
