Panem today, Panem Forever
As if we weren't already excited enough for 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay -Part 1', a new web series promoting the film has just launched. But there's a twist: instead of focussing on Katniss and the efforts of the rebellion, 'District Voices' is a product of Capitol TV -propaganda that attempts to glorify Panem.
Everyday this week, Capitol TV will release a new video that claims to celebrate and give insight into the lives of residents of a different district. Things kicked off on Monday with District 8, exporters of textiles that keep the Capitol's elite looking fabulous. The marketing team do a great job of blurry the boundaries between the Hunger Games universe and reality in this video, which stars Youtube crafters Rob Czar and Corinne Leigh, from ThreadBanger.
Of course, we don't buy the Capitol's lies for a second. Can you spot the possible hint of rebellion towards the end of this video? Leave us a comment if you think you've got it!
Next, the spotlight turned to District 2; the so-called 'peacekeeping' district. Again, another real-life industry expert is featured -this time pro fighter Shane Fazen from fightTIPS.
Look out for the next video, featuring District 5. You can check out the trailer for the whole series here.
What do you think of these new vids? Which district intrigues you the most? Let us know in the comments!
'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay -Part 1' hits UK cinemas on the 20th November
