New UK Book Prize

Big News for Movellas...

You have all heard of the Carnegie Book Prize for children, and Baileys women's prize for fiction, and the Man Booker. But where is the prize for Young Adult books?

The Bookseller is filling that gap by launching the first YA Book Prize for British and Irish Authors, to showcase the incredible YA Books being published this year. Movellas are sponsership partners because we know that our community—that's you guys!—Love YA books.

The judges are all YA book fans and industry proffesionals including:

Melissa Cox—Children's book buyer at Waterstones

Charlotte Eyre—Children's Editor at The Bookseller and Chair of the judges.

Kirsten Grant—Director of World Book Day

Rosianna Halse Rojas—Vlogger and Assistant to author John Green

Imogen Russell Williams—Freelance Jounalist and childrens/YA book expert

Rodrigo Raimundo-Ramos—Movellas user Rodrigo The SwishyFish

We are very pleased to have one of our very own judging the Prize. Congratulations Rodrigo!

'The Movellas team wanted to help launch the Teen Book Award because of our community's relationships with teen books. If we can help raise the profile of YA authors and their books - we're playing a small part in helping our community - and all young people - to engage with great writing.'

Joe Cohen Movellas C.E.O
